Home Lighting Pot Lights, for Every Room Lighting Needs

Home Lighting Pot LightsHome Lighting Pot Lights are becoming very popular not only for the new homes being built but for remodeling jobs as well. Many homeowners are deciding to stay in their existing homes rather than chance trying to sell it and move to another home. The housing market is not very good for anyone right now and so remodeling is a good option to update and renew a home.

Pot lights come in several styles, color trim and light bulb options. There are two main sizes for the regular pot lights that most people use and those are 4-inch and 6-inch. There are also the halogen lights that come in sizes 2-inch up to 4-inch and work great for smaller projects such as over a portrait or shelf of collectables.

For the bathroom there are pot lights that have a built in fan or exhaust that will help to evacuate the steam from a shower or hot bath. These are specially designed pot lights and may take a few weeks to order. They have a light in them and work great in the bathroom or even a kitchen or baby's room where odors tend to accumulate.

For a basement there are pot lights that have a wood-look trim that could be matched to the paneling or the décor. These pot lights are great for a basement because most basements are remodeled from an unfixed basement into a fixed basement by dropping the ceiling. With a recessed or pot light, there is nothing hanging down and the light will help to open up the space and make it look bigger and make it more warm and inviting.

On the main floor, pot lights would be ideal in a TV room or living room where someone likes to sit and read or work on delicate, detailed sewing. These lights would be placed above a chair and the light directed below would reach out approximately 9 feet in a triangular position. Once a person moves out of the triangle, they will experience less light from the pot lights.

There are several different configurations of pot lights that an electrician or lighting contractor will be able to show a homeowner in order to make sure they are getting the most light from their pot lights. There is only one configuration of the pot light that no one recommends and that is a single row of lights down the center of the room, no matter how big or small the room is.

Home Pot Lighting could also work well outside the house. Having pot lights installed under the eves of the house is a great way to make a house more inviting and welcoming to people as they drive up or walk up to the house. This is also a great way to deter would-be burglars because the pot light bulbs can be directed towards a window or door. Experts in crime prevention all agree that the best way to protect a house from being a target of burglars is to light their path so they can be seen – something burglars don't want.
